Ballet Chesapeake is a non-profit 501(c)(3) classical and contemporary ballet company designed to share its creative resources and talents with the community through performances and programs designed to educate, enrich and entertain. It affords members the opportunity to explore their full dance potential in a master-apprentice structure.
Composed of dedicated pre-professionals who audition each year, Ballet Chesapeake seeks to afford Company Members the opportunity to explore their full dance potential and to interact closely with respected experts in the field of dance, both by performing alongside professional guest artists in Ballet Chesapeake productions and by learning technique and choreography from master teachers.
Company Members have a unique opportunity for personal growth and development. As they strive for their artistic goals, they gain invaluable life skills. This personal growth and accomplishment is not only of value to each individual dancer, but it is also an asset to the Harford County community. Ballet Chesapeake audience members of all ages gain a better understanding and appreciation for the art of classical ballet as a part of each production. Ballet Chesapeake is overseen by an Executive Board that works closely with the artistic director and the company manager to provide support for the Company. Dancers who are interested in performing with Ballet Chesapeake should check the company website for information about auditions for the pre-professional division of Ballet Chesapeake.
