DCM students registered for the Winter and Spring sessions, at or above the PreBallet level, are invited to perform in DCM June Concert. Students learn choreography starting in January.
Costume and concert commitment contracts are distributed in October and must be returned by November 15 in order to participate in the performance. Ballet Classes are required to attend an additional 30-minute performance class following their technique class to rehearse. Tuition rates apply. Please note that students must be registered in BOTH Winter and Spring sessions in order to participate in the June Concert.

Students ages 6 and up, enrolled in a ballet class, are invited to audition to participate in Ballet Chesapeake's annual presentation of The Nutcracker as well as the Spring Production (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake). Students who participate perform children's roles in the ballet and have the opportunity to interact with Ballet Chesapeake members and accomplished guest artists as part of a professional performing experience.
Nutcracker auditions will be held in early September each year. Check the schedule page for more details.
AUDITIONS FOR OUR 2023 NUTCRACKER WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH FROM 10AM-12PM.
Spring Production auditions will be held in early January.
DCM Instructors will invite parents in periodically throughout the year to present a selection of classroom material that our youngest students have been working on. This in-class presentation allows students to experience the art of performing on a more personal level for their families and friends. Your child's instructor will let you know when class observation sessions are scheduled.
Parents and friends are invited into the studio to observe DCM classes at the midpoint in the year. This offers an opportunity for guests to see what dancers have been working on in class, and to track a student's progress from year to year. Parents and friends can take photos and watch DCM instructors interacting with the class. Visitor's Week schedules will be posted in January of each year.
YAGP is the world's largest ballet competition. Select advanced dancers in the DCM Pre-Professional program have the opportunity to perform at the regional YAGP competition. Dancers prepare a solo by working one on one with an instructor and perform on stage for a group of family, friends, dance peers, and internationally renowned judges. You can learn more about YAGP HERE.
