DCM's half-day camps introduce children to musicality, locomotor skills, and group movement activities. Each week is planned around a theme that includes ballet, tap, and/or jazz, storytime, crafts, and an informal performance at the end of the week. Snack is included each day.
Lunch Bunch is also available for $25/week for dancers attending two camps in one day.
Dancers will need to bring a packed lunch.

Ballet Chesapeake's August Workshop is designed for the serious professional or pre-professional dance student at an intermediate to advanced level of training. The summer intensive will include daily ballet technique classes as well as modern, pointe, variations, and pas de deux classes with renowned guest professionals and Ballet Chesapeake faculty. The program is designed to help students continue technical and artistic progress over the summer so that they are ready to begin the school year dancing at their best.
Housing in Harford County, Maryland with Ballet Chesapeake families is available Monday-Thursday of each week for out-of-town students. Please contact the Ballet Chesapeake office for more information and registration details.
Female dancers will need to wear a solid color traditional style leotard (no halters, criss-cross straps, or keyholes), pink or skin tone convertible tights, pink or skin tone ballet slippers and/or pointe shoes.
Male dancers will need to wear a white leotard or form fitting t-shirt tucked into black convertible tights, and black ballet slippers or white ballet slippers with white socks.

Maurice, a Baltimore native, was first introduced to dance at age 14 and started his formal training at Baltimore School for the Arts. After graduating, Maurice continued his dance training at Purchase College State University of New York. After completing a year at SUNY Purchase, Maurice joined Charlotte Ballet II. While in the second company, Maurice had the opportunity to dance the solo in Ohad Nahrin’s Minus 16, which lead to his promotion to the first company. Maurice has also performed works by Johan Inger, Filipe Portugal, Javier de Frutos, Brian Arias, Sasha Janes, Robyn Mineko Williams and Myles Thather. He attended summer intensives with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Miami City Ballet.

While at the Pennsylvania Ballet, Patterson danced many roles in works by George Balanchine, including The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Slaughter on 10th Avenue, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Western Symphony, Prodigal Son, and Agon to name a few. While a member of Pennsylvania Ballet Mr. Patterson had the opportunity to work with and perform Christopher Wheeldon’s Swan Lake at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival in collaboration with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow. Mr. Patterson’s students have been accepted to many prestigious ballet schools nationally and internationally, including the School of American Ballet (SAB), and have danced with or are currently dancing with Joffrey Ballet, Washington Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Minnesota Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Boston Ballet, New York City ballet and Netherlands Dans Theater. In 2010, Mr. Patterson was also the choreographer for the short film, “The Dance Lesson” by Chinonye Chukwu which was awarded a Princess Grace Award.
